Dallas police are currently in search of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice following an incident involving a vehicle registered to him on Saturday, according to law enforcement officials as reported by Kelli Smith and R.J.
The vehicle associated with Rice was reportedly involved in an accident; however, it remains uncertain whether Rice, a Dallas native, was directly involved. Given that the vehicle is registered under his name, authorities are actively attempting to establish contact with the wide receiver to gather more information.
At this time, it has not been disclosed whether the accident is being treated as a criminal matter. As of Sunday morning, Rice’s name has not appeared in any jail recors.
Rice, a product of SMU, had an impressive 2023 season with 79 receptions totaling 938 yards and seven touchdowns after being drafted in the second round the previous year. Notably, he contributed six receptions for 39 yards in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl triumph over the San Francisco 49ers, also setting an NFL rookie record for postseason receptions with 26.
Details regarding injuries resulting from the accident, which occurred around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, have not been released by the police thus far. The situation is currently under investigation.
